How to mitigate the challenges of IFRS 9 by applying receivables management models?

Adopting the IFRS 9 will materially influence banks’ financial statements with impairment calculations.

Impairment analysis would lead to a more sound, lower-risk banking system with more efficient banks and better allocation of capital.

One of the important challenges coming with this is how to mitigate the change from an incurred loss model (IAS39) of credit provisioning to expected loss (IFRS9)?

Katerina Bosevska form EOS and Zlatica Civkaroski from Sparkasse Bank Macedonia will be speaking at the 12th Annual Banking Credit Risk Management Summit organized by Allan Lloyds Group .

They will give you an inside of a case study touching on:

  • Fast and dynamic management of NPLs (earlier recognition at different stages)
  • Practical implementation of debt sale models as a solution for overcoming the effects from one active management of provisioning/impairment models.
